In a newly published report, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reveals the top 10 most common professions in the U.S., with retail workers, cashiers, and fast food employees comprising the top of the list. Retail salespersons and cashiers make up 6 percent of total U.S. employment, with combined employment numbers of about 7.8 million people.
Among the jobs represented, only Registered Nurses, who earn on average $68,910 per year, have an average wage above the U.S. all-occupations mean of $46,440.
